By the Ground
The Rifle Range: 337, Burnley Road. This pub is about a ten minute walk away from the ground and a very friendly accommodating one, with a family room, TV screens, good food and local ale including the beer of JW Lees and a pint of Coronation Street if you wish. According to a local punter: "Cracking barmaids with tremendous nellies!" And that's good enough for me.

 Old Grey Mare: 331, Oldham Road, Royton. Well frequented by home fans but visiting supporters are welcome. Close to the stadium, five minutes from the the away end. Conservatory and beer garden for the summer. It's claimed the beer is kept rather better than at most establishments in the area. Food served.  White Hart: 233, Oldham Road, Royton. Reasonably large traditional style pub about 150 yards further from the ground than the Old Grey Mare. Under the Courage badge. Serves food. Has a posting on a Yeovil fan site emphasising its away fan friendly welcome. There is a new pub, called the 'Clayton Green' which can be found two hundred yards from the corner of the main stand and the Chaddy End but I've not been in it yet and would presume if it's any good it will be a homer. The Best Pub  Ashton Arms: 28-30, Clegg Street. Some distance (about a mile and half) from the ground, near the shopping centre and opposite the old Town Hall, but it's the best pub in town! There are seven constantly changing guest ales, mostly from local and micro breweries, as well as a good range of authentic continental bottled beers. Food is served at lunchtime. If you've got the time, try and find it but leave by 2 to get to the ground or jump on a train at Mumps to Werneth.     Ashton Arms bottom left, Clegg Street is the C.S. off Union Street. If arriving at Manchester Piccadilly If your like me getting into Manchester early to grab a cheap fare there's time for a beer before taking the fifteen minute walk to where the buses to Oldham are.  Bulls's Head: 84 London Road. Better option for a post or pre-train drink than the anything found in the station. A well appointed and friendly pub with a relaxed atmoshpere, literally just over the road from Piccadilly Station. A good selection of well kept real ales are available. Pricer than most in Manchester but will not seem the case to most coming in from the South! Breaky and a pint If your arriving even earlier grab breaky and a pint, of orange juice, at one of the local Weatherspoons for less than a fiver!  Weatherspoon's Piccadilly: 49a Piccadilly. Mixed reviews as ever with a Weatherspoons but if the money's tight you know what your going to get, a 99p pint of ale! Ten minute walk from the rail station and on the way to the buses to Oldham from Piccadilly Bus Station. Numbers 24, 181 & 182 make the 25 minute trip to Oldham and go past the ground.
