With Rotherham United playing their home games at the Don Valley Stadium it's Sheffield we're heading for while the Millers await their new stadium to be completed, hopefully for the 2012/13 season.
The cheapest singles we've found at the moment with a special online discount is on www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk from London St.Pancras, £16.00 singles each way, total £32, decent times as well.
From Southend stations £24 - £48 return (Would grab a travelcard - £14.60, as ever, cheaper with railcards.)

Megabus services now up from £3 each way for the three and a half hour journey from London Victoria to Sheffield, Meadowhall Interchange, but you have to go here for full information:

Station to Stadium
The nearest railway station is Meadowhall which is slightly closer than Sheffield station which is around two and a half miles away. It is then four stops on the supertram to Don Valley from Meadowhall.
However, most fans are likely to end up at the main Sheffield terminal where it's probbaly easiest to take the 15 minute journey on the Supertram from the station to the stadium, but we believe you have to change once at Castle Street. (Follow the crowds!) The last cost for Adults was £3 but expect that to have risen.
You can also catch the number 69 bus which stops only a couple of minutes walk away from the stadium. The bus journey time is around 7-8 minutes.
Other bus routes that run along Attercliffe Road by the stadium include numbers: 2, 8, 9, 59, 130 & 287.
