Go to www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk now for all the services from London Paddington, £4 singles up there and back but not good times and it is one of those new grounds miles from the station. (Group save will bring the fares down even further, see below.)

If you've got the time there is still a 08.15 that gets in at 09.59 and there's plenty to do, and some great pubs, but you would have to leave Southend very early.

There is a 12.45 but it gets in 14.29 and the ground is a way from the station, if you get a cab right outside you would make it but er, that would rather take away from the cheap fare; as ever, your call.

Back there's a wait as well, the earliest at that price is 19.45, London 21.37.

However, for more reasonable times and any service back the Day Return is only £20, and best bought with a Travelcard from Southend.

There are even cheaper coach links but they will be in the 'Shrimpers by Coach' section

Oxford railway station is over four miles from the ground and it is really not advisable to try to walk it.

You can get the Oxford Bus Company Service, Number 5, from Oxford Railway Station (use bus stop R2) via the city centre, to Knights Road in Blackbird Leys, which is a short walk away from the ground.

You can also get the 106 at the top of the High Street as well as the 5 if you take the ten minute walk to reach the decent pubs,

On Saturday afternoons the buses run regualrly with journey time to the stadium around 25 minutes. For more information visit the
Oxford Bus Company website. (Especially as it's a Bank Holiday.)

Alternatively a taxi will cost you in the region of £10, from the station to the stadium.

Happy New Year!

The station's the blue blob and it's a long, long way from the stadium......

Remember, it's in a Group Save area that can cut fares in half if four of you can travel together, and any various travelcards will make it even cheaper.
