This is not fun so close to the game but if you go to www.fgwtickets.co.uk they will offer you fares to go anywhere in Britain with a 10% discount.

There is a 7.30 from London Euston, into Carlisle, early but no change, at 10.46 at £46.15.

The 17.09 from Carlisle to London Euston by 22.17 via Stafford is £35.50. You would have to leave the ground no later than 17.50 but it is achievable, leave it later and it depends how fit you are!

Or wait until 18.24 Carlisle, no change to London Kings Cross, in at 23.05, also £35.50.

OK, now for the adventurous amongst you and it's still not cheap!

Go to www.nationalexpress.com and book a London Victoria to Newcastle 23.15 Friday October 23rd, in the next day at 5.55, fare presently at £17.

Kill a couple of hours or more, good luck there, then get a Newcastle to Carlisle train service at £12.80 single which you can buy on the day. Plenty of services taking between one and a quarter and one and a half hours.

On the way back get one of the £35.50 train services.

Total fare - £65.30 but you've lost your sanity, or will do by the time you get home, especially if we lose!

This is a trip you can look to fly, but at this stage fares to Newcastle or Glasgow are expensive or the flight times not helpful to get there and back for the game.

Easy Jet's London Stansted to Newcastle is the best trip, certainly quicker than the train at just over an hour, and you can check out the latest services and fares here, www.easyjet.com.

If you've got nothing booked yet, get a supporters club coach!
