Accrington Stanley

It's a tough place to get to, but this might be one for the supporters club coaches unless you want to stay in a b&b, (see below), or jump on a supporters club coach on the way back as the last train to London is the 20.19, not even the whole of the first half!

An advance return will cost £74.80, in fact you can probably stay for a week at that price if you want to, and you don't; but overnight's not too bad, check some prices out here:

If you insist on giving it a go, try www.eastcoast.co.uk for all services including Virgin but if there's 3 to 9 of you there's a THIRD off the fare!

Best Singles Returning next morning

Technically you can do this for £42.50 return, but what you do in Accrington from 9 in the morning and up to 4pm the day after the mind boggles!

London Euston 05.39 - Accrington 08.59 - £14.50 (change at Preston)
London Euston 12.30 - Accrington 09.17 - £35.50 (change at Preston)
London Euston 14.40 - Accrington 18.09 - £35.50 (change at Preston)

Accrington 12.06 - London Euston 15.12 - £35.50 (change at Preston)
Accrington 13.06 - London Euston 16.04 - £35.50 (change at Preston)
Accrington 16.06 - London Euston 19.13 - £28.00 (change at Preston)

There are some fares from London - Birmingham New Street from £6.00 and £9.00 back the next day, and for Birmingham - London for £7.50, but sadly nothing Birmingham - Accrington for a decent fare.

Maybe I've missed something but it does my head in trying to work out the connections, so the website awaits, good luck!

Station to Stadium

Accrington station is about a mile away from the ground.

Leave the station and travel down the slope towards the large viaduct roundabout in the centre of town. Take the Milnshaw Lane exit at the opposite side of the roundabout alongside the Perry's Peugeot dealership.

After approximately 100 metres this road then joins Whalley Road. Bear left up the hill and follow Whalley Road for about a mile, passing the hospital, a set of traffic lights and then a mini roundabout. Take the next right after the mini roundabout junction into Livingstone Road.

The football club is approximately 100 metres on the left on Livingstone Road.

Station: Bottom right, the blue blob; Stadium: Top right, above Livingstone Road.
