The Youth Cup being held at Roots Hall this weekend gave the home side a chance to come back after their unlucky penalty defeat Saturday, but it happened again, this time losing by the odd spot kick in 23!

Southend United U'18s once again had to face a penalty shoot out after drawing 2-2 with FC Twente in the third/fourth place play off match played at Roots Hall this morning.

And once again the youngsters lost out in what turned out to be a marathon penaly shoot out, losing 11-12 when Anthony Furlonge's second penalty was saved by Timo Plattel, the FC Twente keeper.
