The former Ipswich player is the only member of Ricky Duncan's under 18 side to be offered a deal. Craig has scored 16 times in 18 starts includinga hat-trick against Aldershot last weekend!

Head of Youth Duncan told the official site: "Craig's goal return alone this season has been enough for us to offer a year's development contract so we can monitor his progress. The one area he needs to work on is his aerial ability but given a chance he is a natural finisher. He will train with the first team pre-season, then I will take him back with the reserves and youth team and we will try and get him out on loan at a good level straight away."

As for other players in the squad, the youth team captain Davis Abbey's future will be decided at the end of the season.

However, goalkeeper Nathan McDonald, defenders Ricky Byrne, Ronnie Jones and Jack Morris and striker Fredrik Ljungstrom have been told they can find pastures new.

It shows the excellent team spirit Ricky has built up by the fact they will continue to play for the Blues to try and secure the youth league this season.

They will be allowed to trail for other clubs at any time with Swindon already showing an interest in Ljungstrom and a couple of other players being looked at by Dagenham and Redbridge.

Good luck from TLG Craig and everyone in the under-18 side as they seek that elusive title.
