Harry Crawford: Youth to first team to international call-up; quite a season!

Young Harry, only 18, has impressed this season when coming on as a sub for the first team and this is a real slice of good news in a crap week.

He is now set to make the long trip to Macedonia next month to be part of the Ireland Under-19 squad travelling there to play in a friendly.

Already offered a two-year professional contract and having made his senior debut, this caps a fine season for the youth teams top scorer.

Harry was meant to fly out on the day of the Southampton game, the International is down for May 11, but the Shrimper striker has been given special permission to join the squad at a later date so he can still be involved against the Saints.

Defender Kane Ferdinand has also been approached to be on standby for the future.

Congrats to Harry of course, but pats on back to Ricky Duncan's coaching skills and the Shrimpers Trust for their continuing sponsorship of the under-18 side.
