Head groundsman Ken Hare has overseen work which has seen the top layer of the surface removed, before it is treated and completely reseeded.
Talking to the official site Ken said: "The pitch could have been a lot better last season. We decided against this process last year but the pitch cut up a lot and it probably wasn't the right thing to have done. You get a lot of annual meadow grass in there and it's not the best thing to play football on. We've removed all of the old rubbish grass on there and once it's all grown it will be a far superior surface."
