Captain Adam will go to the Ambassador's ball

On the Football League website the news that the ever popular Southend captain has become the face of the Trust and will launch Community projects throughout the upcoming season.


Adam himself said: "The club does some excellent work in the community and I was only too happy to get involved. Some people on the outside might perceive our work as just soccer schools, but the club delivers a range of educational and lifestyle programmes. By lending a hand, I hope I can make a difference in the local area."

The Blues Community Chief Executive Steve Goodsell added: "Adam is a great role model for young people and good example of someone who has worked hard to get where he is. He cares a great deal about the club, and has always shown a real interest in the work we do and what we achieve. We are delighted to have Adam as an Ambassador and look forward to working with him in the future."

Finally, Football League Trust regional Manager Greg Baker said: "It is always a bonus to have first team players involved in community schemes. Adam has shown a real commitment off the pitch, as well as on it, and this is great news for everyone at Southend."

This has been a great year for all Southend community schemes.

First, they brought home a Family Excellence Award:

There is still a large amount of work the club does away from Roots Hall that goes unreported.
