Yates: Manager of the Month for November

Yates: Manager of the Month for November

If the Shrimpers didn't have enough on their plate in Saturday's tough trip to Whaddon Road to face promotion chasing Cheltenham, their boss has just been made the best boss for the fourth month of the fourth tier season.

The Gloucester Robins conceded just one goal in November on their way to three wins and that was enough to secure Yates the gong.

Yates told www.ctfc.com/: "I'm delighted to receive this award, but it's one for the whole team and not just myself. I am nothing without my players and they have been superb this season."

Alan Curbishley, who chairs the judging panel, pointed to the Robins' impressive away record as to why Yates was victorious:"November was a fantastic month for Cheltenham. Notable away wins at Oxford and Bradford mean they now occupy an automatic promotion spot."

npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins said:"Cheltenham continued their excellent October form with three impressive league performances. Mark has organised his back-four admirably, resulting in the second best defensive record in the league this season"

Yates faces a stern test of his team's promotion credentials this weekend as the third placed club host leaders Southend United, whose manager Paul Sturrock must have considered himself unlucky not to have been even nominated, the losing three being Shrewsbury Town's Graham Turner, Lawie Sanchez of Barnet, and Swindon Town's Paolo Di Canio, who, while a serial nominee, seems doomed to always be the bridesmaid.

Four wins and a JPT defeat saw Yates home, while Luggy's record was four wins and two draws, not bad, maybe they felt winning in it in September and nominated the next month when fat boy Evans scooped it was more than enough.

Kee: League Two Player of the Month for November

Kee: Player of the Month for November

The Northern Irishman scored three goals in four games for Burton Albion and adds to the young player of the month award he bagged last month.

Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido told www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk: "I'm delighted for Billy, it's really well deserved. He's been in great form for us. He's still only young and has made a tremendous impact since he joined."

Kee moved from Torquay for £20,000 this summer and Peter Beagrie, who sits on the panel judging the award, thinks he is proving to be value for money.

Pesch continued: "His goals and all-round performances have been nothing short of outstanding. He is looking like the bargain signing of the season."

Kee will have the chance to prove his class this weekend as Burton travel to Crawley.

Come on mate, grab a hat-trick!
