Hereford United 1 Leicester City 3

Second half goals from Lloyd Dyer and Steve Howard moved Leicester another step closer to the Championship and Hereford towards the drop.

The struggling Bulls stunned the leaders when they went in front in the 28th minute from the spot. Joe Mattock fouled Jennison Myrie-Williams in the box and Steve Guinan converted from 12-yards.

The lead lasted just six minutes though as Karl Broadhurst fouled Matty Fryatt on the edge of the box and Matt Oakley curled in the free-kick.

Dyer then gave The Foxes the lead on 73 with a great finish from the edge of the box before Howard sealed the win, four minutes from time, with another deadly strike.

Leeds United 1 Stockport County 0

Jonathan Howson's ninth minute strike earned high-flying Leeds their ninth straight win at Elland Road.

Leeds stormed in front when Jonathan Douglas crossed for Howson to net his fifth of the season from close range.

But County hit back and Casper Ankergren produced smart saves to keep out shots from Dominic Blizzard and Greg Tansey.

Leeds substitute Andy Robinson almost made it two after the break but Conrad Logan saved well before Michael Raynes was denied a last-gasp leveller by Ankergren as the hosts stay fifth.

Walsall 0 Tranmere Rovers1

Bas Savage's eighth goal of the season snatched Tranmere all of the points at Walsall and moved them back into the top six.

Rovers began brightly and Savage and Ian Moore forced saves from Rene Gilmartin in The Saddlers goal.

Jabo Ibehre went close for Walsall before the break but Tranmere were back on top in the second period with Charlie Barnett and Antony Kay again bringing the best out of Gilmartin.

But their pressure finally told ten minutes from time when Savage headed in Edrissa Sonko's cross.

Leyton Orient 2 Colchester United 1

Jimmy Smith's 80th minute goal earned Leyton Orient boss Geraint Williams a sweet victory over the club that sacked him in September.

The U's took the lead two minutes before the break when Marc Tierney's free-kick was flicked on by Ashley Vincent and Clive Platt headed in his tenth goal of the season.

But Orient were level before the break when former Tottenham youngster Charlie Daniels cracked a stunning 25-yard free-kick past Dean Gerken.

Chances came at both ends in the second period but Smith, on-loan from Chelsea, snatched the points when he hammered home Sean Thornton's cross.

Crewe Alexandra 0 Hartlepool United 0

Billy Jones' stunning display was not enough as Crewe had to settle for a point in their relegation battle with Hartlepool.

The 25-year-old had a hand in all of The Railwaymen's best moments and went close to giving them the lead in the 31st minute but his strike was saved by Danish keeper Jan Budtz.

Hartlepool hit back themselves with Andy Monkhouse pulling the strings as the half came to a close but they found home keeper John Ruddy in fine form.

Jones' set pieces continued to dominate proceedings after the break and Clayton Donaldson also went close as the home side pushed for a vital winner but they had to settle for a point and remain just three points above the drop zone.

Brighton & Hove Albion 2 Swindon Town 3

Three goals in 13 minutes at the start of the second half eased Swindon's relegation fears and sent Brighton closer to the basement division.

The Seagulls went in front eight minutes before the break. Dean Cox sent Gary Dicker down the right and he crossed for Adam Virgo to slide home from six- yards.

But The Robins turned the game on its head with three goals before the hour. Gordon Greer converted Billy Paynter's cross on 47 before Paynter got on the scoresheet himself with a confident finish three minutes later.

And the points were in the bag on 58 when Simon Cox fired home Anthony McNamee's cross for his 28th goal of the season.

Dicker got a goal back in the final minute but Swindon stood firm to go six points clear of the bottom four.
