Di Canio: Expected to stay

Di Canio should still be at Swindon for the Shrimpers battles to come

Swindon Town chairman Jeremy Wray does not believe Paolo Di Canio will be tempted to manage clubs higher up the football league pyramid.

The Italian has steadied the ship at the County Ground, losing just two matches since the start of September, after experiencing defeats in five of his first seven games at the helm.

Wray is not concerned that results such as Saturday's 4-1 thrashing of Huddersfield will entice managerless clubs into trying to poach Di Canio.

He told www.gazetteandherald.co.uk: "If I am any judge of character then this is a situation that is not going to happen. People need not worry. We are just putting something together here, Paolo has brought his own players in and he is certainly not about to move on and do all that again. That is not the case and a point may come (when he looks to move on), but as far as I am concerned that will not be until we are in the Championship."

Brave words Jeremy, we will have to see what comes to past when Swindon visit Roots Hall in the JPT southern section semi-final, more than likely, on Tuesday, December 6th, kick-off 19.45, while definitly in League Two on Saturday, January 28th, kick-off 15.00, both very big matches indeed.

Whether we all will be by the time those fixtures come around there's no doubt that the tempremental Italian has turned the Robins of Wiltshire in to a serious outfit whoi should be challenging for honours come May, we are the form teams at the moment, along with the other Robins, (six wins in a row away!), some Shrews & that annoying lot from Sussex.
