Peterborough United 1 Cheltenham Town 1

Tottenham loanee David Hutton stole a second-half point for Cheltenham as they continued to defy relegation against high-flying Peterborough.

It took The Posh 35 minutes to break the deadlock at London Road when striker Aaron Mclean finished neatly after Craig Mackail-Smith's mazy run.

But any thoughts Darren Ferguson's men had of Cheltenham rolling over were gone in the 66th minute when they failed to clear their lines and midfielder Hutton pounced and fired home from close range.

A win would have seen Peterborough leapfrog Leicester at the top but despite Mclean, George Boyd and Paul Coutts all going close The Posh could not find a winner.

Southend United 0 MK Dons 2

The Franchise consolidated their place in the League One play-offs courtesy of a 2-0 win over fellow promotion hopefuls Southend on Good Friday.

Winger Mark Wright was the hero at Roots Hall as he netted twice to take Roberto Di Matteo's side onto 75 points from 41 games, nine clear of Tranmere Rovers in seventh.

Wright opened his account on 59 minutes when converting with a diving header from a Stephen Gleeson cross.

Gleeson was again the creator in injury time as he led a breakaway and fed Wright, who finished calmly.

Southend are three points shy of the top six after 42 games.

Yeovil Town 2 Millwall 0

Yeovil duo Jonathan Obika and Gavin Tomlin scored either side of the half as The Glovers put a major dent in ten-man Millwall's automatic promotion hopes at Huish Park.

The Lions had won their last six games away from The Den but were outplayed in the opening 20 minutes with Tomlin twice testing keeper David Forde.

However The Glovers did not have to wait long to open the scoring and in the 40th minute Obika latched onto Kieran Murtagh smart through ball and fired past Forde.

Millwall never recovered and Tomlin sealed the deal in the 49th minute smashing home from close range before Lions midfielder Alan Dunne was sent off for a second bookable offence 18 minutes from time.

Scunthorpe United 1 Huddersfield Town 2

Mid-table Huddersfield came from behind to overcome play-off hopefuls Scunthorpe at Glanford Park.

Scunthorpe took the lead in the 19th-minute with Martyn Woolford finding the target.

Tom Clarke's strike seven minutes later equalised for The Terriers and Gary Roberts fired home left-footed to claim a 54th-minute winner, in a match containing eight yellow cards.

Carlisle United 1 Oldham Athletic 1

Defender Neal Eardley's last gasp effort earned ten-man Oldham a valuable point in their bid for the play-offs against Carlisle.

The Cumbrians got off to the perfect start when Hatters left-back Daniel Jones was sent off for hauling down Cleveland Taylor in the area and Hull loanee Michael Bridges slotted home the resulting spot kick.

Carlisle pressed home the one-man advantage after the break but failed to convert possession into goals with Bridges twice denied by Oldham keeper Shane Supple.

And the hosts failure in front of goal came back to haunt them in the 88th minute when Eardley curled home a 25-yard free-kick after former Millwall striker Scott Dobie fouled midfielder Mark Allott.

Bristol Rovers 1 Northampton Town 0

Striker Jo Kuffour's solo second half effort saw Bristol Rovers collect all three points and send Northampton one step closer to relegation.

Defender Steve Elliott had The Pirates best chance of a dire first half but could only blast a free-kick on the edge of the area in the 40th minute high and wide.

Northampton looked like a team at the wrong end of the table and struggled to enforce themselves at the Memorial Stadium with their only chance falling to midfielder Andrew Holt after the break.

And just as the game seemed to be heading for a draw Welsh midfielder David Pipe teed up Kuffour in the 72nd minute to drill home the winner from the edge of the area.
