Iron draw keeps Blues play-off hopes alive into weekend!

Leicester City 2 Scunthorpe United 2

In the evening's other game, the Iron are still on course for a play-off place after drawing at already-promoted Leicester.

Michael Morrison gave The Foxes - who announced the permanent signing of Jack Hobbs from Liverpool before kick-off - the lead in the 16th minute, but goals from Paul Hayes and Grant McCann swung the game the way of Scunthorpe.

However, Morrison bagged his second to ensure Leicester avoided defeat in their final home game of the season.

Stockport County 4 Crewe Alexandra 3

Crewe's bid for League One survival suffered a blow on Friday evening with a 4-3 defeat at Stockport.

Alex fell behind to an early James Vincent goal but were level shortly after through Billy Jones. Chris O'Grady and Oli Johnson fired Stockport into a 3-1 lead, before Dennis Lawrence gave Alex hope, but Johnson's second for County gave them a fourth and Scott McMannus's 90th-minute strike for Crewe proved too little too late.

Trewick steps up for Bulls

In other news Herford United coach John Trewick will take charge of the Bulls's final two League One games of the season as he moves into the managerial hot-seat ahead of schedule.

Outgoing boss Graham Turner, the second longest serving manager in England behind Sir Alex Ferguson, revealed in midweek that he would step down at the end of the season. But this arrangement has now changed as Trewick takes charge for the matches against Northampton and MK Dons to conclude their campaign.

Trewick has yet to name his coaching staff as he prepares for life in League Two next season.
