Strange time to sack your manager as Russell Slade becomes boss No. 11 to lose his job in League One this season. What odds Adams at Brighton making it a rounded 50%?

Slade left Yeovil Town this morning, bringing his spell at the club to an end. A statement released by the club says the manager and the club have parted company "with immediate effect".

Relations had been strained between Slade and the board recently, despite some good results on the pitch. Rumours of friction between him and the club's directors have been circulating for several weeks with Slade reported as being unhappy with the lack of investmnet in the club.

Yeovil enjoyed an emphatic win at Peterborough on Saturday, and travel to face Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium on Tuesday night.

Steve Thompson seems likely to be appointed caretaker manager for the game with Rovers.
