Watt: Creepies make loan move

From Leeds to Crawley, money talks!

The England Under-19 international was on loan at the Championship club last season, and spent two months with League One promotion challangers Sheffield Wednesday earlier this campaign.

Red Devils boss Steve Evans told www.crawleytownfc.com: "Sanchez Watt is a player we have monitored and admired for some time now and we are absolutely thrilled that a player of his quality is coming to Crawley. He had several offers to go to Championship and League One clubs but he likes the idea of playing for a club who are challenging for promotion. I think he can make a really big difference to what is already a very talented squad. I cannot remember being as excited about a signing for some time."

Watt, 20, will be included in the squad to face Hull in the FA Cup fourth-round clash at the KC Stadium.

Meanwhile, the fat boy warned that: "At the start of the transfer window I said our signing targets would in the main be quality additions and this is great start. I would hope by early next week we have some great news but at present it is a work in progress."

I'm sure he's a more improved player than the teenager Tilly brought to the Shrimpers also on loan back in that ill-fated relegation season when, in all honesty, Watt didn't show much at all, victim of some robust early tackling in his early experiences with the club, he came off on 66 minutes in the 'Bailey rolled around like a dog' defeat to Charlton back in February 2010 never to be seen again!

Southend United next play Crawley live in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Monday, March 5th at Roots Hall; kick-off 19.45.
