Andy Scott: 'It was a job I really wanted'; until the next one
So Rotherham United dump Ronnie Moore on March 22nd for running into a poor run of form, and nearly a month later give the job to ex-Brentford boss Andy Scott, whose own dodgy spell got him the sack at the West London club.
It's a crazy world this football lark.
Anyway, Scott has been handed a three-year contract, bet he doesn't see it out, and, more importantly in the short term, will be trying to force the Millers back into the play-off positions where they remain four points behind the seventh-placed club Gillingham in 10th with five games to play.
Andy Liddell and Paul Warne have taken caretaker charge of the club's last four games, in which they have taken just four points from a possible 12.
It certainly seemed a harsh dismissal at the time Griffin Park said farewell to the 38-year-old Scott who was proving to be one of the brightest young managers around.
He took the previously struggling Bees to the 2008/09 League Two title in his first full season in charge, before maybe over achieving with a ninth-placed finish in the club's first year back in League One.
Scott told www.themillers.co.uk: "I feel privileged to be given the job of managing this progressive and ambitious club. It was a job I really wanted and to be able to share the ambition of the board is something I aim to work hard to achieve. I want to replicate what I achieved in my first full season at Brentford and I will be working tirelessly to accomplish just that."
The Shrimpers completed a league double over the Millers this season.
