Barnett: Scored early goal

Barnett: Scored early goal

Barnet 0 Crawley Town 1

Tyrone Barnett scored early on as Crawley bounced back from their defeat to Gillingham with a 1-0 victory over Barnet at Broadfield Stadium.

Barnett gave Crawley the perfect start by firing them ahead from 16 yards in only the third minute after Kyle McFadzean mis-kicked a corner by Scott Neilson.

Defender Dean Howell almost doubled the advantage three minutes later with a tremendous left-footed 30-yard drive which cannoned back off the crossbar.

Barnet striker Izale McLeod missed a sharp chance when well placed just before the break after Mark Marshall's cross was headed on by skipper Mark Hughes.

Visiting goalkeeper Dean Brill parried a goal-bound shot from Matt Tubbs as Crawley threatened immediately after the break. Brill saved a header from skipper Pablo Mills and Barnett saw a deflected 30-yard shot go wide as Crawley looked to extend their advantage.

Barnet almost snatched a point, but Scott Shearer saved well from top scorer McLeod.

Pack: Scored only goal

Cheltenham Town 1 Rotherham United 0

Marlon Pack's stunning 25-yard strike earned Cheltenham a 1-0 victory over promotion rivals Rotherham at Whaddon Road on Friday night.

Pack drilled a low shot beyond goalkeeper Conrad Logan on 11 minutes to cap an impressive display.

The Robins should have added to their tally before half-time with Luke Garbutt forcing Logan into a hurried save when he let fly with a 35-yard effort.

After a promising opening 10 minutes, Rotherham struggled to create anything of note before the break, Lewis Grabban going closest when he dragged a shot wide after holding off defender Steve Elliott.

The Robins continued to dominate the chances after the break with Jimmy Spencer hitting the outside of the post midway through the half before substitute Kaid Mohamed, on the pitch for less than a minute, was denied by a full-length save.

Cheltenham keeper Scott Brown was finally forced into action late on to keep out a Brett Williams header but the home side ran out worthy winners.

Woodall: Scored second in two games

Woodall: Scored second in two games

Dagenham & Redbridge 2 Gillingham 1

Brian Woodall scored his second goal in as many games as Dagenham came from behind to beat Gillingham 2-1 at Victoria Road.

Danny Kedwell took advantage of an error from Daggers keeper Chris Lewington to fire the visitors ahead after seven minutes. Danny Jackman almost doubled the lead when he hit the post directly from a corner.

But Daggers gave themselves a foothold in the game when Billy Bingham volleyed in the equaliser on 22 minutes.

The Gills piled on the pressure in an effort to regain the lead, but Lewington saved from Jo Kuffour and Kedwell had a header blocked on the line by Dominic Green.

Daggers made the brightest start to the second half and Richard Rose's header forced a finger-tip save from Ross Flitney, while Cristian Montano and Green also tested the Gillingham goalkeeper.

The home side finally made their domination count after 65 minutes when Woodall curled in the winner from just inside the box.

Evans: Scored Stanley's equaliser

Evans: Scored Stanley's equaliser

Accrington Stanley 1 Hereford United 1

Accrington fought back to earn a well deserved 1-1 draw against struggling Hereford at Edgar Street on Friday night.

Frenchman Yoann Arquin's fifth-minute strike was cancelled out in the second-half by Accrington substitute Micah Evans. Hereford goalkeeper Adam Bartlett dropped the ball at the feet of Evans, who converted from close range.

Hereford swept into an early lead when Arquin latched onto a cross from Ryan Green before driving the ball past Ian Dunbavin from just inside the penalty area. Accrington responded with Bryan Hughes driving a fierce free kick at Bartlett, who turned it around the post for a corner.

Bartlett also saved from Jayden Stockley before Hereford's Tom Barkhuizen curled a 25-yard free-kick past the post. On the stroke of half time, Dunbavin made a save to deny Hereford a second when he saved a low shot from full-back Ryan Green.

Dunbavin was in action again, saving a goal-bound header from Rob Purdie from a Barkhuizen corner. Barkhuizen also had an effort saved in the 60th minute, but Accrington rallied with midfielder Andrew Proctor drilling a 20-yard shot inches over the crossbar.

Stanley, however, eventually levelled after 72 minutes when Bartlett dropped a cross from Sean Hessey at the feet of Evans, who bundled it over the line.
