Blues hang on as Iron draw but Seagulls fly out of bottom four

The Iron's play-off hopes were dealt a blow as they were held to a draw by the struggling Cobblers.

The hosts took the lead through Jason Crowe after 38 but Scunthorpe snatched an equaliser on the stroke of half time from Liam Trotter.

The visitors then took the lead from the penalty spot through Grant McCann four minutes after the restart before Ikechi Anya levelled midway through the half.

Matthew Sparrow made it 3-2 to the visitors after 68 but Mark Hughes equalised for the second time for Northampton to move them out of the relegation zone.

Yeovil Town 2 Hereford United 2

The Glovers are now four points of the relegation zone after coming from two goals down to draw with the relegated Bulls who remain bottom of the table.

Jennison Myrie-Williams and Steve Guinan put Hereford 2-0 up before Yeovil fought back.

Substitute Luke Rodgers made it 2-1 before keeper Chris Weale netted in the 90th minute to secure a point for the hosts.

Bristol Rovers 1 Brighton & Hove Albion 2

The Seagulls also moved clear of the relegation zone with a crucial away victory over the Pirates.

Rovers took the lead after 28 minutes through Rickie Lambert before Lloyd Owusu levelled two minutes before the break for the visitors.

And seven minutes after the restart substitute Calvin Andrew grabbed the winner to move Brighton two points clear of the drop zone.
