Free Franck Campaign Fails At First Hurdle!

The not totally unexpected news that the three match Moose ban has been upheld and he will miss the games against Walsall, Leyton Orient and Carlisle.

Speaking to the official site Tilly said: "We're obviously very disappointed as we felt we had a good case. I didn't feel it was a sending off at the time and I stand by that now. We submitted a lot of written evidence and two DVD's of fottage from the West and East side of the ground but it appears that wasn't enough. It's a shame as Frank is only young and this season he has started to cement himself into the team. He will be a loss but I guess the one positive is that the three matches all come in the space of seven days."

This is the first time in many a year that I've seen the first 4 games of
the season and, on the whole, I think we're a central midfield short of a
good first eleven.

The Moose-Grant partnership just doesn't cut it for me. One or the other
alongside McCormack I think we can live with but not the two of them as
the mainstay of the central midfield for possibly the next 4 to 6 weeks! (Well you don't have to worry about that now Milkey mate.)

In the 4 games so far, we've had the front two coming deep, deeper and
deeper still to get any sight of the ball. Last season Barnard coming deep
meant halfway between the opposition goal area and the halfway line, this
season, so far, that has meant 10 yards into our own half! Regularly. And
the lack of pace from the front two has also meant when we do get the ball
out wide, there's no-one in the middle. We've had Betsy doing a JCR
(running in circles, taking on the same player twice) in the hope of the
forwards getting into the box eventually.

Now, with HRK & Betsy I think we've got a couple of decent wingers who
will create chances - albeit Betsy's crossing radar was a little(!) off
Friday - and if we can get a decent central midfielder to allow Barnard &
Revell to play their game a lot higher up the pitch, I think we've got a
good shout. Currently we're looking at a record low goals for column,
IMHO.

So do we get a discount on our spnsorship fee, thought not.

Many, of course, felt the Moose was playing in the last chance saloon anyway, so this could turn into a longer break than just three games.

Will there be a Frenchman in Francks' place on Saturday?
