Wycombe Wanderers Reserves 1 Southend United Reserves 4

Southend started the game by playing both Furlong and Laurent up front and Scannel and Walker out wide. A forward line we may see playing in the first team one day, or at least finishing the game.

The Moose also returned from suspension and the side was skippered by young Johnny Herd.

Blues took the lead after 9 minutes when Laurent was fouled in the box when put through by Walker, who took the penalty but had his shot saved, Scannel being the first to the rebound.

This advantage was doubled on 24 minutes, Walker and Laurent again combining well to set up Scannell whose shot into the right hand corner gave the Wycombe keeper Young no chance.

Walker himself at last got himself on the scoresheet when following a terrific pass by Herd James found the net a good 25 yards out.

Magno Vieira made sure the home side went into the interval with only a two goal disadvantage with a dipping drive which beat our own Clark Masters, again in place of the boy Yank.

The Moose helped Blues regain that three goal lead when it was his corner that was not cleared well falling to Herd who played a smart one-two with O'Keefe and then went on to chip Young as he came off his line, cheeky!

Laurent sadly limped off before the end but might have done enough to earn a place on the subs bench on Saturday, though it really is a game of 'spot the defender' of the five Tilly will end up choosing from.

So the second succesive win for the reserves, well done lads, robbed of the goal scoring exploits of the Prince, and Foran, wherever he is?

Southend United: Masters, Owinja, Sankofa, Jones, Herd, Scannell, O'Keefe, Moussa, Walker (Forshaw 84), Furlong, (Henry 87), Laurent (Ademeno 84).
Subs not used: McDonald, Osifuwa.
