Joyce gets a chance to shine against Posh reserves

This game has suddenly taken on more interest than the average Stiffs game and TLG will have a spy at the Hall to see how our boy yank does as well as being on Moose Watch.

A safe and solid game and the keepers jersey for Crewe will surely be his. No pressure Ian.

Joyce at 23 has still to make a football league start in this country after joing the Blues from Watford in the summer.

Southend boss Tilly told the official site: "Joycey will play today and we will see how he does. It's a chance for him to show he should be the one to play at Crewe on Saturday, so we will see what happens and go from there."

The Moose will also get a match in midfield but will need to have an exceptional game to oust Sawyer and Christophe at the moment, both played well against Hereford.

Alex Revell, robbed of showing us his goalkeeping skills last weekend, will line up in his normal position next to Francis Laurent.

Damien Scannell must wonder how many goals he needs to score after his double last time out to get another first team chance. Tough though to see what he can do with Betsy having his best game for the club on Saturday.

Should be a bigger crowd than usual for a reserve game and it all kicks off at 2pm at the Hall today.

TLG will have a full report on how everybody did once the match finishes around 4pm.

SOUTHEND UNITED RESERVES: Joyce, Owinja, Herd, Sankofa, Jones, Scannell, O'Keefe, Moussa, Ademeno, Laurent, Revell.

Subs; Forshaw, McDonald, Thurlbourne, Whittikar, Crawford
