**Mark Gower scored his first goal for five months, since he found the net in the 2-2 draw with Hull City on 20th April 2004 – a run of ten matches
**It was Gower's tenth goal for Southend United - as that last statistic suggests nine came last term, and so far seven have come in the Football League. It was also his 50th League game for Blues
