AND ANOTHER THING…
**Duncan Jupp was booked for the ninth time in his Southend United career – seven of those have been in the League and four in the current campaign. It was the second time that he had been cautioned in consecutive matches.
**Spencer Prior was making his 150th Football League appearance for Southend United, having completed 171 games as a Shrimpers player now.
**This was the first time since leaving the club at 16 that Freddy Eastwood has failed to score in a Southend shirt having netted once in each of his two reserve games and then both against Swansea City (3) and Scunthorpe United (1).
**Wayne Gray scored his third Southend United goal in his fifteenth match – so far both away strikes at Lincoln City’s Sincil Bank and now Shrewsbury Town’s Gay Meadow have resulted in 1-1 draws. The home goal, against Boston United, aided United’s cause with a 2-1 victory.
