Indicated Stoppage Time | First half: 1 minute, Second half: 3 minutes

Actual Stoppage Time | First half: 1:55, Second half: 3:27

Referee: Eddie Evans (Great Manchester FA) 5 out of 10 – did nothing particularly out of the ordinary, but showed signs that he really is inadequate at times, including when winding players up with over-zealous signals. Jupp booking was far too early, Torpey’s far too late.

Attendance: 3470 (approximately 100 Shrimpers)

Programme Cover: Paul Hayes

Jimmy Corbett was on target for the first time in 2004/5
AND ANOTHER THING…

**The Shrimpers have still not won a match at Glanford Park - both of their wins in Lincolnshire against the Iron came at the Old Showground, the last time being 1983, when Blues won 6-1.

**This was a second successive defeat on the road for the Seasiders, and in that time, they have now conceded seven goals.

**Jimmy Corbett scored his first goal for Southend United this season, in his first start. It was his 50th career League appearance.

**Kevin Maher, in contrast, was playing in his 250th Football League match, all of which have been at Southend United.

**The game was Carl Pettefer's 25th League clash for Blues, whilst it also marked the first time in his professional career that Nicky Nicolau has appeared as a substitute.
