AND ANOTHER THING…
**This was Southend United's biggest away win for nearly three years - the last 4-1 victory coming in the first round of the LDV Vans Trophy against Stevenage Borough in 2001.
**It was also the first time that they had won away from home since the 2-1 win over Carlisle United in March.
**Lawrie Dudfield scored his first goals since the last day of last season against Torquay United when he bagged Blues' consolation in a 2-1 defeat.
**For Tesfaye Bramble the wait had been even longer - he hadn't netted since the LDV Vans Trophy area final first leg in the 3-2 win over north Essex rivals Colchester United.
**Darryl Flahavan and James Corbett were making their first appearances of the season, albeit as substitutes.
**For Flahavan, it was the first time he had appeared as a substitute for Southend United, having once come on as a replacement during his time at Woking.
