SHRIMPERS
In all honesty I think there's only so much you can say about the week the side has had this week.
Great news on the two signings from our new friends Colchester, they actually know how to keep the ball on the ground so no place in Boothroyd's Farmers then, but to pick a side is impossible until we know what the injury situation is.
The team I'm guessing on below is on all three being fit and with Tilly returning to a 4-4-2.
However, with Southend, and what the midfield will be if the players who missed training, (Christophe, Grant and Laurent), can't play, who knows! Luckily, the youth team haven't got a game!
I'm certainly slightly more optimistic than I was a few hours ago, then again I usually am after a few beers, and a draw would be a great result, 2-1 win then!
Possible Southend United: Mildenhall, Francis, Baldwin, Barrett, Malone, Laurent, Christophe, Grant, Moussa, Vernon, Paterson.
Subs: Joyce, Sankofa, Herd, Walker, Freedman, Asante, Spencer.
The Robins are certainly on a good run at the moment and a 3-0 win over Leeds is not to be sniffed at, the play-offs are looking good but it's a long time till May.
Swindon boss Danny Wilson will be looking to name an unchanged side to the one that had that great result over the boys from West Yorkshire with Lescinel Jean-Francois continuing at left back while Alan Sheehan continues to miss out due to a hamstring problem.
Recent signing from Carlisle Vincent Pericard will have to be content with the bench, but not a bad man to come on if things are going wrong, as Charlie Austin, picked up from non-league Poole, and ex-Blue Billy Paynter, aim to continue their rich vein of goal scoring form.
The other former Shrimper on the books, loanee centre back Sean Morrison, should also be on the bench if he recovers from a slight hamstring strain.
Winger Alan O'Brien is completing his recovery from a hamstring problem, while midfielder Kurt Hammonds (knee) and defender Callum Kennedy (pelvis) are also out.
Defender Hasney Aljofree has joined Oldham on trial while striker Lee Peacock has gone to League Two Grimsby on loan.

Last Time Out: Swindon Town 3 Leeds United 0
Billy Paynter struck twice after the break to give Town a famous 3-0 win over Leeds at the County Ground.
Charlie Austin's 13th-minute effort gave the home side a deserved advantage going into half-time and Swindon then weathered an early storm before wrapping up all three points.
First Paynter headed home Lecsinel Jean-Francois' cross before tucking home a penalty after Austin had been fouled.
And it was no more than Danny Wilson's side deserved having dominated for large spells in front of a capacity crowd.
The tone was set inside the opening two minutes as both sides tried their luck.
First Danny Ward and Charlie Austin combined to set up Jon-Paul McGovern, whose finish was weak and straight into the arms of Casper Ankergrean.
The Leeds keeper promptly launched the ball upfield to Jermaine Beckford, but the in-form striker fired at ex-teammate David Lucas from a difficult angle.
And it was Swindon who carved out the first real chance on eight minutes when Ward's hanging cross from the left was met by Billy Paynter, but he was unable to head past Ankergren.
The 14-goal front man was left wondering how he hadn't broken the deadlock a minute late as he wriggled free of his marker to connect with McGovern's corner, and somehow nodded over from a matter of yards.
Having threatend in the early stages, Town finally did take the lead in the 13th minute through Charlie Austin - his ninth goal of the season.
A crisp passing move ended with Paynter flicking Kevin Amankwaah's ball in the striker's path, and from there Austin was never going to make any mistake as he slammed it past Ankergren.
It was almost two soon after. Leeds failed to clear a long throw into the box and when McGovern swung his left boot at it from 20 yards, a deflection looked to be sending the ball into the bottom corner.
That was until Ankergren changed direction to pull off a superb fingertip stop and put it out for a corner.
Leeds were finding it hard to respond and even when Simon Ferry gave away possession on the edge of his own area, Neil Kilkenny could only drag a bobbling shot harmlessly wide.
But Swindon almost gifted them an equaliser on 31 minutes. Jonathan Howson skipped away from Lecsinel Jean-Francois and his centre was shanked just over his own crossbar by Scott Cuthbert.
With four minutes of the half remaining Ankergren again came to Leeds' rescue. McGovern struck a curling free-kick from 25 yards which the Danish stopper did brilliantly to turn behind.
Town were encamped in their own box for the opening spell of the second half as the visitors launched aerial attack after aerial attack on them.
Bradley Johnson thought he had levelled on 53 minutes when he struck goalwards from close range, but Lucas was more than a match for it, pulling off a fine save to deny the midfielder.
But right on the hour mark Swindon extended their advantage as Paynter made it 15 for the season.
Jean-Francois' delivery from the left flank was inch perfect and Paynter rose at the near post to arrow a header down past Ankergren and into the back of the net.
Within a minute the hosts were awarded a penalty. Ankergren got into a mix up with Patrick Kisnorbo trying to claim a harmless through ball, and when Austin pounced the keeper clipped his ankles.
Referee Phil Gibbs had no hesitation in pointing to the spot and Paynter duly stepped up to fire into the bottom corner.
Leeds substitute Luciano Becchio struck the bar and had a goal ruled out for a push as the visitors tried to respond, but too often they didn't make the most of the attacking positions they got themselves in.
Despite being three to the good, Town hadn't given up in their pursuit of more goals.
Paynter saw a strike blocked by Kisnorbo as they broke at pace, before Ferry dragged the rebound across the face of goal and the wrong side of the upright.
On 83 minutes Ward raced through the Leeds back line before forcing another fine stop out of Ankergren, and Paynter just failed to stab home his hat-trick from the resulting corner.

To Win:
Southend - 21/10 , Draw - 12/5, Swindon - 7/5.
Swindon Town Football Club was founded by Reverend William Pitt of Liddington in 1879. The team turned professional in 1894 and joined the Southern League which was founded in the same year
In 1969 Swindon beat Arsenal 3-1 to win the League Cup for the first and only time in the club's history. As winners of the League Cup, Swindon were assured of a place in their first European competition: the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. However, the Football Association had previously agreed to inclusion criteria with the organizers which mandated that only League Cup winners from Division One would be able to take part.
As the team were not eligible, the short lived Anglo-Italian competitions were created to give teams from lower divisions experience in Europe. The first of these, the 1969 Anglo-Italian League Cup, was contested over two legs against Coppa Italia winners A.S. Roma. Swindon won 5-2, with the scorer of two goals in the League Cup final - Don Rogers - scoring once and new acquisition Arthur Horsfield acquiring his first hat-trick for the club.
The team then went on to win the 1970 Anglo-Italian Cup competition in a tournament beset by hooliganism. The final against S.S.C. Napoli was abandoned after 79 minutes following pitch invasions and a missile barrage, with teargas being employed to allow the teams to return to the dressing room.
The club has been beset by financial difficulties throughout its history, having been placed into administration twice and also twice fought off winding-up orders from Her Majesty's Customs and Excise over unpaid tax-bills. The board currently have to make yearly payments of £100,000 to creditors (2% of the yearly turnover), and only managed to begin the 2006-07 season after sourcing £500,000 to pay for players' wages.
The club is campaigning for the redevelopment of the County Ground to help finance the team and a takeover bid by a Fans' Consortium was launched in December 2005.
In 2008 Swindon Town was taken over by a consortium fronted by local businessman Andrew Fitton along with Jeremy Wray who appointed Maurice Malpas as the new manager. The consortium planned to clear all club debts by the end of the 2007/08 season.
Maurice Malpas was under severe pressure as Swindon started the 2008-09 campaign badly, after winning the first match at home against Tranmere Rovers 3-1, Swindon lost 5 consecutive matches at home, (the first time this had happened since 2000), and there were several calls for Malpas to be replaced.
Malpas was sacked on 14 November 2008, with David Byrne taking over temporarily. Danny Wilson was unveiled as the new manager on 26 December 2008. Wilson helped maintain Swindon's League One status and finished in 15th position, though only 4 points from the relegation zone in his first season in charge.
The 2009-10 season started positively with the club maintaining a play-off position going into the new year.
