Stewart Till is the latest signing on to the Shrimpers Board of Directors.

The official site tells us that Stewart is still the Chair of the film company Icon, the vampire flick Let Me In was there's and they have just released indy movie 'Oranges and Sunshine, while previously he was Chief Executive of United International Pictures and Chair of the UK Film Council.

Add to that Chair of Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for the UK's Creative Industries, and Chair of PPC, a creative marketing agency for the major film studios, a busy boy!

In 2002 he picked up a CBE for services to the British film industry.

From 2006 to 2008 he was Chair of present Championship South London side Millwall FC.

Shrimpers supremo Ron Martin told www.southendunited.co.uk: "Over the past 18 months I have wishing to 'refresh' the Board and introduce new dynamics to assist the Club's strategic growth. The appointment of Tara Brady as CEO was the first step and the appointment of Stewart is a further significant step in that process."

'Dynamics' hopefully mean dosh in this case!

Anyway, the man himself said: "I have got enourmous respect for Ron and Tara. I think the plans for the new stadium are very exciting and I am delighted to become involved with a football club that is definitely going forward and upwards."
