Your Chance To Grill The Gaffers!

Steve Tilson comes face to face with his faithful fans
Since the departure of Rob Newman, Southend United supporters have been pleading with the football club to allow them their chance to have a Question & Answer session with the manager. Steve Wignall, and temporarily David Webb, came and went, with no sign of any such opportunity. Then Steve Tilson and Paul Brush were put in caretaker charge – ‘wait until we have a permanent manager’ came the cry from Ron Martin.

However, the Shrimpers Trust, who have been lobbying for the last twelve months on your behalf for such a chance to chat with Tilly and Brush, have now been successful in their application. The date for your diaries is Tuesday September 7th, the venue the Shrimpers Bar and your host will be Brian Wheeler (who hopefully should have forgotten last night’s result).

The evening gets underway at 7.00 p.m., with all the formal stuff starting at 7.30. However, this event will only be open to Shrimpers Trust members. Don’t worry if you have not paid up yet, you still have two weeks in which to download a form and more information from www.shrimperstrust.co.uk, or indeed from the door of the Shrimpers Bar next Monday before the home match against Macclesfield Town. Failing that, you can sign up on the door, on the day – the cost is £7 for one year or £10 for two, or £5 for Southend Junior Shrimper Membership.

These occasions don’t come round very often, so make sure you come along for your chance to ask those questions that have always been on the tip of your tongue!
