Wideboy Feeney signs from Sailsbury as Ademeno goes the other way

The move will see the 21-year-old stay with the Shrimpers until January, with Charles Ademeno moving in the opposite direction for the same period.

Feeney will increase competition for attacking places at Roots Hall, especially useful with the news of Scannell's injury and the poor form of Kevin Betsy.

Blues boss Steve Tilson, talking to www.southendunited.co.uk, is delighted to have snapped up Feeney's services: "Liam can play on the left or the right and this is a good chance for us to have a look at him before the transfer window re-opens. His pace is his main asset but he's a stocky lad and has great strength too."

Feeney was close to completing a move to Dagenham and Redbridge last week but the move fell through at the last minute with the Daggers unable to agree terms on a permenant switch when that transfer window opens in January.

Feeney is cup-tied for Saturday's F.A. Cup Second Round clash with Luton Town having played in the preliminary rounds with Salisbury.

The following is a conversation from the www.bbc.co.uk/football 606 when it looked as if Liam was going to sign for Dag & Reg;

Any info. on the above player, (Laim Feeney), may be signing for Dagenham & Redbridge, winger? Is he naturally left or right footed and has he an eye for goal? Cheers.

Is he rubbish or is it that you just dont want to lose him?

We don't want to lose him but are becoming resigned to this.

Feeney is a good player and will do well for you. All the best Liam if you go and thanks for your service.

Salisbury fan posted the below on the D&R unofficial -
Well if you get him he is a great player. Quick, two footed, plays either wing, plays upfront and also started with Salisbury at the back! He is only 21, should be playing in league 1 or 2.

I've been digging and found following stats.
Appearances 39 Goals 11; Yellow cards 2; Red cards 0

He has not joined as yet but looks like he is going to. Andy Sandell is the better player, but is now with Aldershot. Good luck to both, they have been quality in their short time with Salisbury, they deserve football league football rather than conference. Both players will be missed. Hopefully we can get a decent young forward in on loan from a football league club by next Saturday (you have now), any one heard any rumours?
