Paterson: Netted a brace
Matt Paterson: Gillingham hand him a trial

Update: Paterson came on in the 67th minute of the Gills 2-1 defeat at home to Championship side Peterborough United Saturday afternoon, however no mention of him in the official report, but there is of Fat Fry: www.gillinghamfootballclub.com

As we wonder if the lesser-spotted Harry Crawford was seen at Kettering Thursday night, the striker at the top of CEO Tara Brady's get rid off list, especially with a wage bill that could probably pay all three of the Shrimpers recent signings, the former Saints striker Matt Paterson, is going to get a chance with Gillingham in a pre-season friendly against Peterborough United.

It seems that Patters can play two games with our Kent-based League Two rivals after turning out a couple of times for Oxford United in their recent tour to the States.

Let's face it with three strikers possibily out for the first League game against Hereford on Saturday week, and still Luggy wants to ship him out, he really has no future at Roots Hall.

S24 wishes Matt all the luck at the weekend, it must work out for him soon!
