The Shrimpers will take on Championship side Ipswich Town in the first pre-season friendly announced by the club.
The game will take place at Roots Hall on Friday, July 22nd with a 19.45 kick-off.
Southend were scheduled to play the Tractor Boys last summer but the match was cancelled following manager Paul Sturrock's late arrival after Steve Tilson's close season dismissal.
Full details and ticket information for the Ipswich match will be confirmed closer to the actual date.
