Match Report (from www.shrewsburytown-mad.co.uk):

Shrewsbury Town remain rooted to the foot of the Football League following a 1-1 home draw against Grimsby Town.

Still reeling from their 4-1 drubbing at Leyton Orient last Saturday, things got worse before they became better for the home side as Terry Fleming fired the visitors ahead after just five minutes.

But Shrewsbury hit back, and although Luke Rodgers had a penalty saved seven minutes before the break, Jimmy Quinn's men finally drew level when full-back Jake Sedgemore saw his 77th minute free-kick slip through the hands of Grimsby keeper Tony Williams and into the net.

Manager Quinn made several changes from the side trounced in east London at the weekend, which included giving a first start of the season for veteran midfielder Martin O'Connor – but it all looked to no avail as Fleming was left unmarked to shoot the Mariners ahead.

Shrewsbury, however, recovered from this set-back and after Jamie Tolley and Duane Darby both went close, Rodgers himself won the 38th minute penalty kick for an infringement only seen by referee Jones.

Rodgers took the ensuing spot-kick himself only to see Williams palm it to safety.

After the break Shrewsbury continued to press, but John McDermott and Andy Parkinson both went close to extending the visitor's lead, before Sedgemore's free-kick and Williams' error enabled the Gay Meadow side to avoid their fourth home defeat of the season.

Match Report (from www.shrewsburytown-mad.co.uk):

Two goals from Lee Steele and a brace from Andy Scott fired Leyton Orient to the top of the League Two table with a 4-1 thrashing of Shrewsbury at Brisbane Road.

Steele scored the first and last goals against his former club to send the Shrews to the bottom of the table - and their first season back in the Football League looks set to be a difficult one.

It's the first time in more than a decade that Orient have topped the table and a deadly three-goal burst in a ten minute first half spell ensured them the victory.

The misery for the visitors started as early as the 11th minute as they lost the influential striker Richard Logan and things quickly went to bad to worse.

After 17th minutes Michael Simpson sent Matthew Lockwood scampering down the left and his excellent cross was headed home by Steele.

Two minutes later the home side stretched their advantage when Wayne Carlisle sent in a superb cross from the right and Scott swept the goal home from close range.

With Orient in full flight they added a third on 25 minutes when skipper Gary Alexander held the ball up before setting up Scott ,who swivelled within the area and sent a shot crashing into the top corner.

As Orient continued to dominate Stuart Wardley, making his first start, went within inches of adding a fourth just after the break.

There was no rest for Shrewsbury as Orient continued to pile on the pressure and Alexander wasted a glorious chance to add the fourth after a fine through ball from Justin Miller.

Shrewsbury slowly came back into the contest and, just after the hour mark, Darren Moss saw a shot skim the outside of a post before Orient's Simpson made an excellent goal line clearance to deny live wire Luke Rogers.

But Orient stretched their advantage five minutes from time when substitute Jabo Ibehre's excellent run set up Steele to score his second from close range.

Shrewsbury did grab a consolation goal in stoppage time when Rodgers crossed for David Fox to fire home.

Match Report (from www.shrewsburytown-mad.co.uk):

Shrewsbury Town suffered their third home defeat of the season - as they went down by the only goal to visiting Rushden & Diamonds.

The struggling Shrews were beaten by a goal on the stroke of half-time by Craig Dove - with the other significant contribution to the visitors' victory made by goalkeeper Billy Turley, who made a string of fine saves to keep the home side at bay.

With on-loan Manchester United midfielder David Fox - son of former Stoke City goalkeeper Peter - given an instant debut after making the temporary move from Old Trafford, Shrewsbury were keen to build on an impressive point gained at Wycombe last Saturday, but almost fell behind in only the fourth minute when Alex Hay saw his shot beat Shrews keeper Scott Howie all ends up only to rebound off the inside of a post.

Turley made the first of his excellent saves when he clawed away an effort from the ever-industrious Luke Rodgers in the 16th minute and denied the same player four minutes before the break with a diving stop at the near post.

But seconds before the half-time whistle, Shrewsbury failed to clear a corner with Dove on hand to smash the ball home from six yards.

After the break Shrewsbury continued to make the running, but were once again thwarted by Turley - whose 63rd minute stop from Ryan Lowe was the pick of his night's work.

Town boss Jimmy Quinn introduced former Rushden hero Duane Darby and winger Sammy Aiston in a bid to salvage a point, but the visitors held out in the face of some intense pressure to stretch their unbeaten run against the Gay Meadow side to six matches.

Match Report (by www.shrewsburytown-mad.co.uk):

Danny Senda's late effort was enough to secure Wycombe Wanderers a point in the 1-1 draw against a plucky Shrewsbury Town at the Causeway Stadium.

A headed goal from Darren Moss in the first half had put the Shrews in the driving seat but that was cancelled out late in the game by Senda, who sealed Tony Adams' men a point in a result which extends the home sides' run without at win the Causeway to three league games.

Shrewsbury reaped their reward for some neat, incisive attacking play when they took the lead after 36 minutes.

A corner from the left by John McGrath was headed home by Moss from six yards. Wycombe responded and created some good opportunities but poor finishing, particularly from former Plymouth striker Ian Stonebridge, meant the visitors led at half-time.

The Shrews came out for the second half looking to hold onto what they had and they soaked up some early pressure from the Chairboys.

On loan Arsenal striker Adam Birchall fired just over from 20 yards and then actually found the back of the Shrewsbury net before a linesman's flag stopped the home celebration in their tracks.

Wycombe though did conjure an equaliser out of nothing on 74 minutes. Nathan Tyson made tracks down the left and Senda swept his cross home from 12 yards for his third goal of the season.

Match Report (from
www.bournemouth-mad.co.uk):

We got to the ground to find that it was £12 to get in to the seated area of the ground, then to find out that we were not playing any of the younger players as we thought they might do.

Instead Young and Broadhurst as centre backs, Wade on the right, Cummings on the left and Holmes on the left wing.

The game started and we knew that it was going to be one of those games where we go through the motions and it proved me right when on 21 minutes we gave the ball to Rodgers to place it past Stewart. 1-0. Then only a few half chances up to half time of a very poor half.

At the break Connell came on for Browning. As the second half started, it got worse when we went 2-down. A shot brought a fine save from Stewart, but the ball was whipped back in only to be deflected by Young in to his own net on 46 minutes.

Stewart saved well again before it was 3-0. Logan (on 66 minutes). We made more chances after Stocks we taken free kick made it 3-1 on 71 minutes.

Andrade came on for Rodrigues and Coutts came on for O'Connor. Coutts looked lively and should have started, it was his cross that hit Whitehead to make it 3-2 on 91 minutes.

That was how it finished and I found it real hard to do a report as it was a poor game and not one to remember.
