Tigers Clash Re-Arranged

Last updated : 16 March 2004 By Robert Craven

The Shrimpers face the Seasiders on Sunday March 21st at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, the day after the fixture with Hull was expected to go ahead before Blues route to the final. As a result the Division Three game, which may yet be vital to Uniuted’s Football League survival, was postponed.

However, the club have today announced that the match will go ahead on
Tuesday April 20th 2004, with kick off the usual 7:45 p.m. The Tigers had wanted the game two weeks earlier so as to fall inside the school Easter holidays and therefore increase the number of supporters able to travel. The encounter now falls between the penultimate away game of the season, at Northampton Town’s Sixfields Stadium and the second-last home game, against Yeovil Town, the following weekend.

Meanwhile, Southend have also released the special edition silver LDV Vans Trophy final shirt, which is priced at £39.99 for adults and £32 for children. It is currently in stock in the Blues Superstore, and although numbers are limited, it is strictly on a first-come-first-serve basis.

And on a disappointing note, Lawrie Dudfield appears to have returned to Northampton Town. Cobblers manager Colin Calderwood announced that he would be going straight into Town's squad for the weekend's Third Division clash, so unless Ron Martin makes his cheque book available fast, Dudfield's "happiest time in football" will be at an end. We at TLG wish him all the best for the future.
