Michael Timlin; a Luggy fave
Swindon Town chairman Jeremy Wray has confirmed to the local media they are still hoping to keep hold of out of contract midfielder Michael Timlin.
The boy from Peckham still remains a target of Blues boss Paul Sturrock who took the player to the Robins from Fulham on loan in 2006 when in charge at the County Ground, and did the trick again last year for his new club during an injury to Shrimpers skipper Craig Easton, who also hasn't put pen to paper yet, maybe they will just do a swap!
It's believed that the Wiltshire side have offered him a new deal on reduced terms and a one year contract, which could open the door for cash strapped Southend who could now be able to match the wages but offer two years, which should make us favourites, if true, but the cool Italian charm of new Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio may still win the day!
Wray told BBC Wiltshire: "Tims has had discussions with at least one other club. I think he's wrestling with the offer we've given him. He's been open and honest with me and I know when he's made his mind up he'll let me know."
Tims! We'll have none of that if he does return to Roots Hall!
