Gavin Tomlin: Trio of clubs ready to pounce?

www.skysports.com/ have reported that several clubs are interested in signing Dagenham & Redbridge forward Gavin Tomlin during the January transfer window.

It seems Tomlin is set to leave the Daggers on a free transfer with the news getting a few League Two teams interested!

The 28-year-old enjoyed a successful spell on loan with Torquay United last season, scoring four goals during his two-month spell at Plainmoor.

That would certainly place Bristol Rovers in there, athe Pirates boss Paul Buckle signed Tomlin for the Gulls, if he's still around at the Memorial Stadium after the week's out!: www.bristolrovers.vitalfootball.co.uk (though he did sign a couple of seagulls today, not the actions of a guy about to be sacked; www.southendunited-mad.co.uk)

However, he's a Gillingham born boy so that could give the Kent based outfit an advantage.

Finally, the Shrimpers!

However, with Southend today confirming that fellow 5ft 10 striker Elliot Benyon's transfer from Swindon has officially gone through, he's in the squad for the Daggers clash at Roots Hall on Bank Holiday Monday January 2nd, it's doubtful Blues boss Paul Sturrock would be looking for two 'foxes in the box', though Tomlin can play wider, a replacement for Jemal Johnstone?

And is this the start of a complete makeover in the style of play of Luggy's teams!

Not convinced about this one, and let's face it, Sky Sports have had a poor record regarding the Shrimpers this campaign, Ipswich should have signed half our squad by now.

Would make a good signing?: http://boards.footymad.net
