Sturrock: 'I understand why the fans booed'
Not much Blues boss Paul Sturrock could say after such an awful performance by his side, but at least he admitted he had got it tacticly wrong before the break, and not for the first time, remember Crewe and Port Vale at home last season, enough with the experiments Luggs!
Sturrock told the Echo after the match: 'Had we scored when we were on top we would've won the game. I'm very disappointed and I understand why the fans booed. Missed chances are killing us. I got the system wrong in the first half and we looked a different team when I changed it.'
Peschisolido: 'I was delighted with the all-round performance today'
Meanwhile, Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido was obviously very happy with his tactics thank you very much.
Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby: "We knew we were going to have to come here and ride a storm at stages, but I think we were quite comfortable in the first half. We had the better possession but we really were tired and we had to work hard defensively. When we lost the ball, we hunted it in packs."
But it was to his make-shift defence he was really grateful to, seeing as the Albion manager had half of his first choice out injured!
Pesch continued: "I thought [Adam] Bolder and [John] McGrath were immense and, although we didn't show much flare going forward, defensively we did a job. I think if you're going to win games away from home, you're going to have to sacrifice a bit of your attacking flare and make sure you're solid at the back. That's what we did and that's why I was delighted with the all-round performance today - I thought it was excellent."
