Sturrock: New Shrimpers boss
Sturrock: 'Sometimes different players will suit certain types of opposition or tactics'

Blues boss Paul Sturrock might have brought in Millwall scoring legend Neil Harris, giving him the luxury of six strikers already in the Shrimpers squad, but he still wants another one!

Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: “We aren’t finished in that department yet. Even if Blair signs I would like to bring in another forward. That’s one of the areas we are looking at improving but it’s probably also the hardest to find because all clubs seem to be looking for strikers.”

And one of those six, though big earner Matt Paterson should be on his way very soon, is his own son Blair, who has yet to put pen to paper to a new contract, and still to win over the majority of the Shrimpers faithful, but he should be OK, daddy still wants him to stay at the club!

Sturrock explained: “I would like Blair to stay because you need centre forwards who all offer something different. Sometimes different players will suit certain types of opposition or tactics you want to play and I want Blair to be available. He met with our chief executive Tara (Brady) yesterday and hopefully the situation can be sorted.”
