Mark Phillips; losing the in-form defender would be a real blow
Blues boss Paul Sturrock is concerned that centre-back Mark Phillips and defensive midfielder Jean-Paul Kalala will be lost to his league leading squad longer than hoped after the former Millwall man limped off due to a groin injury, soon to be followed by JP with a hamstring problem.
Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: "It was a blow that they both had to come off and we're worried they might be long-term injuries now. Mark felt something in his groin and JP is struggling too and it was disappointing because it meant we couldn't bring Jack Sampson on in the game. But hopefully the injuries will settle down and not be as bad as we fear because they are both important players for us."
So do we, JP is on the verge of finding his best form again after a worrying few weeks and helps keep the back four protected, a defensive unit that would be badly affected bu a long term loss to Mark who has been on great form and up to this stage lost his former sicknote status.
Couldn't replace those eight goals as well from that position; hang on, there's only one Bilel Mohsni?
