Sturrock: New Shrimpers boss
Sturrock: 'I'm glad we sneaked it in the end'

All good things come to an end, and Blues boss Paul Sturrock was happy enough it was the Boro's eight-match unbeaten run on a sunny Good Friday afternoon at Roots Hall.

The promotion chasers from Stevenage saw Peter Winn sent off for a foul on Sean Clohessy and missed a penalty through John Mousinho, but to rub salt in to the wound, Shrimpers top scorer Barry Corr garbbed his 20th goal of the season nine minutes from then end!

Sturrock told the Press Association: "They are a form team and very difficult opponents, so I'm glad we sneaked it in the end. But if their penalty had gone in it could have been a different story. When they went down to 10 men they played more like 12 and made it hard for us. But I think the triple substitution we made brought us back to life again and it was fantastic for Barry to get his 20th goal of the season."

As for the sending off?

Luggy continued: "The red card was a forward's tackle similar to what I would have done. If he (Winn) had been braver he would have gone in with his head but he had to go for a challenge like that."

There you go, six points off the play-offs with just three games left, what might have been!
