Easton: Wants to stay at Roots Hall

Southend United skipper Craig Easton: Will he stay, or will he go?

With speculation still ongoing that Blues boss Paul Sturrock is talking to out of contract and former loanee Michael Timlin, a similar player in style to Shrimpers midfielder Craig Easton, it may be in the interests of club captain to put pen to paper on a new deal sooner rather than later, then again what do you do about son of Luggy, striker Blair?

Returning from holiday Echo journalist Chris Phillips has already made contact with Roots Hall towers and been told that détente is still breaking out in SS2!

Phillips said on Twitter: 'Contract talks with Craig Easton and Blair Sturrock are still ongoing', with an addition that during an interview that new signing Neil Harris rates Blair!

Whatever, S24 remains confident that both players will eventually accept new deals and remain Shrimpers for the new season.
