Now 'The Sopranos' has finished maybe HBO should go and commission 'The Shrimpers', it certainly wouldn't lack for drama, and Uncle Ron would make a great Junior.
Southend have finally signed someone, infact sometwo, centre back Pat Baldwin and striker Scott Vernon, from Colchester no less, the second time they've helped us out this season after John White and Matt Heath.
I personally never had anything against them you know.
However, it was just in time, as a few under 18's were wondering if they would be reporting to Roots Hall Saturday to get a first team game and not Boots & Laces for training.
Tilly will still hope that all three of his injury scares, Christophe, Grant and Laurent, are fit, unless there's a midfielder to pop up over the next few hours, as with Macca out the engine room could look a little light, but there's a little less reason to fear the coming of the Robins that there was a while ago. (More of that in the Preview, when I get round to writing it!)
Important to add that due to the terms of loan move both Baldwin, (the Bluebells better get concerned at a guy with that surname), and Vernon, (two Scott's now, so will it be Moley and Verny, thank God Morrison went back?), cannot play against the Farmers in the televised match Monday February 8.
So someone better get fit for that one as Macca is still out!
Pat has had a succcesful loan spell with Bristol Rovers, who wanted him back but Balders choose Roots Hall, a cunning decision if ever there was one. (Could have something to do with saving on petrol.)
As for Scotty, he's beamed up, (time to stop these TV references), from scoring a hat-trick against Maldon in the Essex Senior Cup Wednesday.

So he might have picked up an ankle injury which kept him out for three months, it saw Scott only play only once for Gillingham in an earlier loan deal, and sport some strange facial hair, but he's used to hitting the old onion bag, and that's something the Blues faithful will be hoping to see at the weekend.
