Big Steve is probably not so happy at the moment

Just when the Shrimpers keeper thought he had turned the corner with several good performances in the Southend goal he picks up a back injury.

Having missed the derby games against Colchester and Orient the good news was the back was cured; then the bad news......he's picked up a pelvis problem!

Blues physiotherapist John Stannard told the Echo: "There is a bit of inflammation on the joint of the pelvis and we will have to see how it goes over the next couple of weeks. We are going through a core programme with him and it could be that's he out for another two or three weeks but we will have to see how it settles."

So Steve's American born deputy Ian Joyce looks set to continue for the Walsall home game on January 9 and we'll wait and see if the former Yeovil man will be fit for Huddersfield away a week later.
