Morris: In for Southend

Morris; will be our No.1 next week at Sixfields on Saturday

A few hearts were in their mouths when the trainer was on for so long in the second half of the hammering of port Vale on Saturday taking a look at just returned to the first eleven keeper Glenn Morris!

The good news after the game was that Blues boss Paul Sturrock confirmed that though the former Borient man has discolated a finger, he should be fit enough to take on Aidy Boothroyd's Northampton at the Sixfields Stadium next Saturday.

And now as an update, Echoman Chris Phillips has tweeted that: 'Morris met with specialist today and was given go ahead to play at Northampton.'

It's especially welcome as Blues boss Paul Sturrock didn't place a keeper on the subs bench, would be dodgy to repeat that this weekend, though is Morris deputy Daniel Bentley fit?

Last heard of he had a back injury sometime last October! Should be OK now unless it's something new, we're find out soon enough on Saturday.

Though knowing Boothroyd he'll have his big blokes bashing in on Glenn anyway, so I wouldn't drop the ball again mate!
