N'Diaye: On the move
Alassane N'Diaye: 'I will work harder than before to prove myself'

He's here, after the longest 48 hour wait on record, and let's hope he's followed by that wideboy and another striker, and looking forward to his season long loan as a Shrimper.

But before he put pen to paper he had a chat with a certain Southend ex-skipper.

N'Diaye told www.southendunited.co.uk: "I spoke with Adam Barrett before signing and he told me that Southend were a good club and that I should sign. He said it would be a good experience if I put in the hard work."

And there should be plenty of hard work put in over a nine-month long campaign.

Luggy's latest signing continued: "It's a one-year loan deal and I'm looking to get some games and some experience and then we will see what happens at the end of that. The football might be a little different in League Two but in my head I will play the same way on the pitch. Just because it's at a lower level than Palace it doesn't mean that I will do anything differently. I will work harder than before to prove myself."

Harder than at Swindon then where his six appearances, mostly of the subs bench, made little impact.

However, at 6ft 5ins, the 21-year old N'Diaye should tower over some of his opponents, even though he seems to believe he's wondered on to the set of a remake of Land of the Giants when he takes the field in the basement division!

He said: "I have been watching a lot of the Football league show and when they show League Two it feels like the players in this division are much bigger than in the Championship. it looks a lot more physical and that might suit me more because of my size. I went to pre-season training with Palace on Wednesday and we did a lot of running so I've made a good start. On Friday i am back with Southend feeling fit to get going."

Our fivers on Alassane taking out those fourth tier bullies!

Ex-Captain Adam rates the new signing (though the former Shrimpers defender is not on his way to Notts County, or Bournemouth(!), more on that later): www.southendunited-mad.co.uk
