Sampo; looks like he got off the mark in a Shrimpers shirt Saturday

Wondered how Southend did in that behind closed door friendly against West Ham today?

Well, out there in twitterverse the Shrimpers on loan striker from Bolton has told us on @JackSampson14: 'Good little run out against West Ham reserves. We won 5-0 tweeps#sufc'

Not sure if it was the Championship sides reserves, maybe some kids in there.

However, five without reply is good in anybody's books, so passing on our congrats S24 requested to know who scored, and what was obviously a strong starting line-up, certainly up front as Blues boss Paul Sturrock decides on his best two central strikers for the vital Swindon clash Tuesday evening at Roots Hall, he replied: 'Goalscorers - Tims, Me, Dicko, Kane & Elliot.'

So that helped Luggy then! But great Benyon also got off the mark with young Jack, and my bet would be on the front four remaining; Hall, Dickinson, Benyon, Martin.

BNew signing Pat Baldwin played the entire 90 minutes, expect him to replace an injured Mark Phillips in the Robins showdown.

We shall soon see, and this does show a certain element of boredom this particular Saturday, the England cricketers not helping!

In anothert this morning Ricky Duncan's under-18 side grabbed a draw against the young Farmers at the Garrison 'B' Ground: Colchester United 2 (Wright 7, Blanche 68) Southend United 2 (Auger 38, Pinnock 40).
