JJ: To appeal or not to appeal
Shrimpers wideboy Jemal Johnson continues to be on bail following the incident at the Faces nightclub Ilford, and is due to report back to the police on Thursday, January 26th.
JJ was in the starting line-up just a couple of times since his summer tarnsfer to the Essex boys after a year in Bulgaria while also coming on as a sub on five occasions.
However, many believe he has been shabily treated by the powers-that-be at Roots Hall after fellow winger Ryan Hall was convicted for affray last March, an even served a night in Chelmsford jail, following an incident at the club’s Christmas party.
Time for the legendary club source to make an appearance, and justify the Shrimpers stance.
They told www.echo-news.co.uk: “There are so many differences between the cases. For a start Jemal was out drinking just 36 hours before a game and that was deemed as unacceptable by the football management. There had also been incidents when Jemal had not adhered to the club’s rules on discipline.”
Poor old JJ, and with the club also talking to the players union the PFA before making the decision any appeal is looking increasingly unlikely to succeed.
Will the case ever get to court?
