Shrimpers Away Kit Released

Last updated : 28 July 2006 By Adam Duffill

The kit is exactly the same as the home kit with different colours – white rather than blue, and royal blue trim rather than white – and perhaps more importantly for the male contingent of Southend supporters the pink ‘Haart' logo is not pink, being replaced with the rather more masculine black.

The shirt is again made by Nike and is also the same material as the home shirt according to the club shop, and likewise to the home shirt will be offered in either short or long sleeved to supporters, with the latter being slightly dearer at £45.

Southend United's club shop will be where the shirt can be purchased from first, tomorrow from 10am until 3pm. If you cannot get down to the shop on Saturday, probably because you are at Dagenham & Redbridge for the friendly against the Shrimpers as many members of TLG will be, then Sunday's ‘meet the blues day' will also be a venue where the shirt will be sold. However it will be cash only on the day as the shirts will only be on sale from a mobile shop.

The adult sized shirt will cost £40 short sleeved, £45 long sleeved and the Childs shirt will cost a very reasonable £33. Shorts are £18 for adults, £15 for children and socks are £10 for adults and £8 for children.

Meanwhile the away game at Brentwood scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed, the pitch has not yet been played on for this coming season and is not yet up to the required standard.
