Corr: Found the back of the net

Barry Corr: Another attempt to get the tall striker on the field of play

No one's moaning about that large squad now.

If losing the points after the dismal defeat against Burton last weekend was bad enough, Blues boss Paul Sturrock has told the Echo that up to five players received knocks during the game and are being looked at, wouldn't say who but that doesn't leave many fully fit for the tough trip to the Potteries to take on Port Vale!

It's also now been revealed that keeper Glenn Morris and winger Ryan Hall are struggling with flu!

This is on top of the continuing injury problems being suffered by last season's top scorer Barry Corr, the 21-goal man from the previous campaign continues to make central defender Mark Phillips the picture of health, and don't expect the former Brentford skipper to have recovered from his groin problems, but back to Big Baz.

It's been reported that Corr has had yet another injection on his knee to try and help cure his long term sufferings that have yet to see the striker make an appearance of any form, and which, on the whole, we got away with last term, no such luck this time around.

Neil Harris and Liam Dickinson better find some form soon enough!

Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: “Barry has been to a see the specialist again and he’s had an injection on his knee to help cure the injury. We have to give the injection five or six days to see how it’s worked and that means him resting up as well. We obviously hope it’s successful and can get him back training but it’s very much just a case of having to wait and see how he responds.”

We also await news that former Valiant Luke Prosser will be fit enough to play against his former club, Peter Gilbert, who didn't set the Roots Hall faithful alight last Saturday, stands by once again at left-back.

Could be an interesting starting line-up, with Luggy making clear there will be no further loan signings, however many players they are keeping an eye on at the moment, until some squad members find other employment.

Any updated news from the treatment room will be on S24 as soon as we hear it, but as Bomber said to the Echo: "I understand why people were disappointed to see us lose to Burton but there's no need for any fan to be all doom and gloom."

So cheer up out there, it could be worse, at least we have six points in the bag, a win and we leapfrog Robbie Williams favourite side!
